If we are what we do, then we humans are pure rubbish. Our pathological attachment to things turned us into trash makers. Junking is easier than fixing. Our repairing skills are getting atrophied. Buying new, more and more, all of the time, is how we make our economy work. We get stuff. We throw stuff. We get it. We throw it. Where? Here. There. Everywhere. Landfills mutate into looming mountains of garbage and mighty rivers of plastic strangle our oceans. Isn’t that fantastic?
