To categorize the Museo del Prado as a museum of paintings is like describing the Big Ben as a clock or the Tour Eiffel as a radio antenna. So, being commissioned by such a remarkable institution comes with a massive responsibility. But, hey, no pressure. They were planning to launch a brand new range of products and asked me to develop a collection of illustrations. Museo del Prado has always been focused on its key role in the evolution of art history but never has expressed its relationship with the place around it. That was precisely the mission of the project: depicting the intricate network of history flowing across the streets of Madrid that goes beyond the museum walls. Just like the branches of an ancient tree.
