Amid rising geopolitical tension, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, each in his own way, are testing Europe’s resilience. Putin pursues strategic disruption; Trump treats the continent as a stage for nationalist provocation and shaken alliances. Their aims may not be coordinated, but they converge in undermining the post-war order that has long anchored European stability. What’s at risk now is more than political balance. It’s the very credibility of the democratic project.
